The Cicada (Tibicen linnei) is the heraldic animal of the Provence. Usually you can only hear them but will never see one.
This one landed on our blue camping table and spent enough time there to let us go for our cameras.
You can see the symbol of the cicada on every market in the Provence: soaps, scupltures, flowerpots, signs, toys, the cicada is everywhere.
