Harsh light is a pain to deal with, you did a good job managing the challenge. Beautiful child, take many pictures for they grow up quickly.

the portrait as such is great (light, compo ...) but I don't know if I prefer the color or b&w version - they both have their qualities

What a pity the light make this shadow. But the portrait is so nice despite this.

Great post production result! In particular I like the soft quality and the delicate age that represents visually. Light separation around Heidi is superb and provides a great definition of foreground and background elements.
